Augmentiary는 LLM을 활용한 해석 제안을 통해 사용자가 일기 속 경험을 더 깊이 해석하고 의미를 찾을 수 있도록 돕는 저널링 시스템입니다. 여러 해석 후보를 비교하고, 개인적인 맥락 및 과거 기록과 연결하며, AI가 생성한 문장을 시각적으로 구분하고, 점차 자신의 글로 흡수해 가는 인터랙션을 통해 해석의 주도권과 자기 목소리를 사용자에게 남겨 두도록 설계했습니다. 이를 위해 형성 연구를 바탕으로 시스템을 구현하고, 4주간의 탐색적 배포 연구를 통해 이러한 AI 해석 지원이 실제 저널링과 자기성찰에 어떻게 기여하는지 탐구했습니다.

Augmentiary is a journaling system that uses LLM-based interpretive suggestions to help users more deeply interpret their diary experiences and make meaning from them. It preserves users’ interpretive agency and authentic voice by supporting comparison of multiple context-linked interpretations, visual distinction of AI-generated text, and gradual incorporation into their writing. We developed the system through formative research and examined its contribution to journaling and self-reflection in a four-week exploratory deployment study.

AI 기반 디자인 피드백이 실무에서 어떻게 수용될 수 있는지를 탐색하기 위해 현업 UI 디자이너 13명을 대상으로 인터뷰한 프로젝트입니다. 연구 결과, 실무에서의 디자인 판단은 단순 오류 수정이 아닌 사용자 경험, 기술 제약, 조직 맥락을 동시에 조율하는 복합적 과정으로 나타났습니다. AI 피드백은 빠른 1차 검토와 부담 없는 상호작용에서 강점을 갖는 것으로 인식되었지만, 프로젝트 고유의 맥락을 반영하는 데는 한계가 뚜렷하다는 인식이 강했습니다. 이를 바탕으로 맥락 이해, 양방향 상호작용, 투명한 판단 근거를 갖춘 AI 피드백 시스템의 설계 요건을 도출했습니다.

An interview study with 13 working UI designers exploring how AI-generated design feedback can be meaningfully adopted in professional practice. Findings revealed that real-world design judgment is not simply about fixing errors — it is a complex process of balancing user experience, technical constraints, and organizational context all at once. AI feedback was seen as effective for quick first-pass reviews and low-friction interaction, but clearly limited in its ability to reflect project-specific context. From these findings, the study derived design requirements for AI feedback systems built around contextual understanding, bidirectional interaction, and transparent reasoning.

디자인 산업의 AI 전환을 위해 국내 디자이너와 이해관계자 538명을 대상으로 설문조사를 수행하여, 생성형 AI와 데이터 활용에 대한 인식과 활용 맥락을 분석한 프로젝트입니다. 객관식 통계, 주관식 분석, 구조방정식 모형을 결합해 데이터 활용, AI 인식, 프로세스 병목, 미래 역량에 대한 시사점을 도출하였습니다. 분석 결과, AI는 효율성과 아이디어 탐색 측면에서 가치 있는 도구로 인식되었으나 제어와 신뢰성의 한계도 드러났으며, 데이터 신뢰와 활용 경험이 AI 기대를 강화하는 핵심 요인으로 확인되었습니다.

A survey-based research project conducted with 538 designers and design industry stakeholders to support AI transformation in the design field. Using a combination of quantitative statistics, thematic analysis, and structural equation modeling, the study examined how practitioners perceive and use generative AI and data across the design process, surfacing insights on data utilization, AI adoption, process bottlenecks, and future competencies. Findings showed that AI is valued for efficiency and idea exploration, though concerns around controllability and reliability persist. Data trustworthiness and hands-on AI experience emerged as the key drivers of stronger industry-level expectations for AI.

20대의 정신 건강 문제를 수면과 저녁 시간 경험의 관점에서 접근한 학부 졸업 프로젝트입니다. 리서치와 문제 재정의 과정을 통해 핵심 문제를 저녁 시간대의 정서 및 자극 조절 어려움으로 재정의하였습니다. 최종적으로 자기 인식, 저녁 시간 계획, 환경 단서, 수면 준비를 지원하는 앱과 스마트 조명 기반의 제품-서비스 시스템 evniin을 설계하고 프로토타입을 구현하였습니다.

A graduation design project addressing mental health challenges among young adults through the lens of sleep and evening experience. Through research and iterative problem reframing, the core issue was redefined as difficulty regulating emotions and stimulation during evening hours. The outcome is evniin, a product-service system combining a mobile app and smart lighting that supports self-awareness, evening planning, environmental cueing, and sleep preparation.

BBB는 서로 다른 언어와 문화를 가진 사용자들이의 언어 장벽을 완화하는 포용적 커뮤니케이션 지원 서비스입니다. 비영리기업 BBB Korea의 통역 자원봉사 및 요청 서비스에 AI 기술을 접목하여 서비스의 미래 방향성을 제안하였습니다. 태그를 이용한 통역 요청 맥락 구조화를 중심으로, 다자간 대화 및 수어 통역 지원, 사용 이력 기반 언어 학습 연결, 도움과 지원의 시각화까지 이어지는 서비스를 제안했습니다. 2023 Red Dot Brand & Communications Apps 부문에서 수상하였습니다.

BBB is an inclusive communication support service that helps reduce language barriers between users from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. By integrating AI into BBB Korea's existing volunteer interpretation service, the project proposes a future direction for the platform. The concept centers on structuring interpretation requests through tags, and extends into multilateral conversation and sign language support, usage-based language learning, and the visualization of help exchanged. The project was recognized as a 2023 Red Dot Winner in the Brand & Communication Design, Apps category.

STT 연계 기반의 서비스 고도화 맥락에서 BBB Korea 통역 앱의 통역 사용자와 봉사자의 총체적 고객경험(CX)을 높이고자, 현행 앱의 과도한 Depth, 피드백 부족, 일관성 결여 등 핵심 사용성 문제를 해소하기 위해 UI/UX 리디자인을 진행한 프로젝트입니다. 요구사항 분석, 휴리스틱 기반 평가, 벤치마킹으로 개선 방향을 도출한 뒤 정보구조와 핵심 과업 동선을 재설계하고 사용자앱·봉사자앱 와이어프레임, 상세 UI, 스토리보드를 총 388장 규모로 제작하였습니다. 최종 디자인 결과물은 실제 서비스에 반영되었습니다.

This project focused on redesigning the UI/UX of the BBB Korea interpretation app to enhance the overall customer experience (CX) for both users and volunteer interpreters within the context of STT-integrated service advancement. Key usability issues, including excessive navigation depth, lack of feedback, and inconsistency, were identified and addressed. Based on requirement analysis, heuristic evaluation, and benchmarking, improvement directions were established. The information architecture and core task flows were restructured, and a total of 388 deliverables were produced, including wireframes, detailed UI designs, and storyboards for both user and volunteer apps. The final design outcomes were successfully implemented in the live service.

이 프로젝트는 개인작업관리 도구를 단순히 할 일을 기록하는 수단이 아니라, 각자가 처한 상황과 전략에 맞게 우선순위를 조정하고 변화에 대응하도록 돕는 도구로 다시 정의한 연구입니다. 선행연구, 사용자 인터뷰, 기존 앱 분석을 바탕으로, 사용자가 자신만의 우선순위 기준을 설정하면 할 일 목록이 그 규칙에 따라 정렬되고 변화가 생길 때 자동으로 재정렬되는 개인화된 PTM 도구의 디자인 방향을 제안했습니다.

This project redefines personal task management tools not as simple means of recording to-dos, but as tools that help people adjust priorities and respond to change according to their own situations and strategies. Drawing on prior research, user interviews, and an analysis of existing apps, it proposes design directions for a personalized PTM tool in which users set their own prioritization criteria, tasks are sorted according to those rules, and the list is automatically reordered when circumstances change.
